How to delete Outlook Calendar appointment with invalid date (Jan 01, 1601)

1. Select Calendar
2. Go to View>Set the view to By Category
3. Find the appointment in the list
4. Highlight it and click the X on the Outlook menu bar (to delete the appointment)
5. The appointment should disappear from the list.
6. Change the view back to what you had originally.

File not found error playing MKV files on Media Center

I tried the Shark007 codec pack and that didn't work. Then I tried the instructions here and they worked. I thought I would pass this along. Good, easy, instructions for getting .mkv and other filetypes to play on Media Centers x86 and x64.

Tool for lite movie management when not using MyMovies

I use MediaBrowser and I have movies spread over 6 partitions. When I want to delete one, or browse to one, I have to search for it. I made a tool that will show you all your movies in a list, allow you to open the folder containg the movie, delete the movie, view the images in the movie folder, delete images, and even preview the movie. Each movie clicked on will show the description and the cover image.

I call this tool Where Are My Movies At? wamma for short.

Cannot delete folder because of thumbs.db on Windows 7

I run into this problem a lot when trying to delete network folders. Here is a way to prevent the problem.

Go to Control Panel>Folder >Options>View>Checkmark 'always show icons, never thumbnails'. Click Ok.
You should be able to delete those folders now.

On Windows XP go to the same location and deselect 'Do not cache thumbnails'.

Media Browser and Media Center cannot open file error playing movies

What fixed this for me was going into the Media Browser configuration tool and clicking advanced, and then cache. Clearing the items cache fixed the problem.

Also, depending on the types of files you are attempting to play it could be a codec issue. A good solution to this is the Shark007 codec pack. Here's a link for Windows 7. Scroll to the bottom and you will see the download link to 'Major Geeks'.
